Test Two Hooks for the Same Reel
Test two hooks by changing only the first three seconds. Keep the proof the same, and judge the hold, not the likes.

Test two hooks for the same reel by swapping only the opening title. The middle and the ask stay identical, or you are testing two videos. Post them far enough apart that the same people are not the whole audience, and compare how many people are still there after three seconds, not which one got a compliment.
One variable
Hook A is a claim. Hook B is the mistake. Same proof. If you also change the music and the cover, you learned nothing.
Write both before you publish either
A second hook invented after the first flop is usually a different idea. Draft both from the same proof so the test is real.
Read retention, then keep the winner's words
The cover and the caption should switch to the hook that held people. Leaving the old title on the cover wastes the test.
A worked example
Proof: one price card. Hook A: "Name one price." Hook B: "Six prices is no price." Same card in the middle. The hook that keeps people past three seconds becomes the cover.
Before you post
- Only the opening changed.
- You drafted both hooks first.
- The winning words are now the cover.
Where Scro fits
Scro can render the same beats with a different opening title. Approve both stills, export two 9:16 files, and do not change anything else between them.
Cut two openings. Finished samples are on the examples page.
