One face needs a clear reference: front, soft light, no sunglasses, no heavy filter. Lock that before you vary the room.
A reference photo for one face is a clear picture of that person, not a mood. Front or three-quarter, soft light, eyes visible, no sunglasses, no heavy filter, no second person in the crop. That frame is the identity. Later stills may change the room and the shirt. They may not change the eyes, the nose, or the age. If the reference is already filtered, every picture after it will inherit the plastic.
One person in the crop
A group photo makes the model guess who you meant. Crop to the face you are locking. Hands near the face confuse the edges. A plain background is a gift, not a requirement.
Light you can repeat
A reference shot in hard neon is a hard identity to keep on a Tuesday morning. Prefer the window light you actually want in the feed. You can change rooms later. You should not have to undo a filter.
Compare, do not vibe
Put the new still beside the reference. Eyes, nose, jaw, hairline. "Close enough" is how an account becomes two people. Reject the still that drifted, even if the new room is prettier.
