Phone UGC Look Versus Cinema
A phone UGC look is slightly imperfect and close. A cinema look is deliberate. Pick one. Mixing them looks like a filter.

A phone UGC look and a cinema look are different photographs. Phone UGC is close, a little off-center, lit by the room, with ordinary color. Cinema is a chosen lens, a darker background, and a controlled light. Asking for both — "shot on iPhone, anamorphic, cinematic teal" — produces a filter on top of a selfie. Pick one and describe only that.

UGC is specific
Arm's length or a phone on the table, window or overhead room light, subject slightly off center, no letterbox, no film grain piled on. The imperfection is the framing, not a dirty lens you have to mention.
Cinema is also specific
One light, a still camera height, background darker than the face, no phone UI. Do not add "handheld" and "epic" in the same breath. Epic is how product demos lose the product.
Do not borrow the grade
Teal shadows and orange skin are not a phone. They are a grade from another decade of movies. If the account is a person talking in a kitchen, leave the color alone.
A worked example
A founder update: phone on a stack of books, kitchen window, face a little left of center. No widescreen bars, no teal. The cinema version is a different video, not a toggle.
Check the still
- The prompt is phone or cinema, not both.
- Framing matches that choice.
- The color grade matches the room.
Where Scro fits
Describe that one look in the Scro still and approve it before the talk. The editor can trim starting silence and burn in captions. It should not have to undo a grade that fought the room. Export 9:16.
Pick phone or cinema, then stay there. Finished samples are on the examples page.
